Barca’s season opener

On August 23, 2026, FC Barcelona beat Elche in their season opener by a score of 5-0 for a very comfortable win. During the game Raphinha opened the scoring with a penalty before the 15th minute, and right before half-time Adeyemi had found himself in front of goal and had to put the ball in the back of the net, and so he did.  

This game was special for many reasons such as how they don’t have a traditional striker, but still were able to get 5 goals, also 2 of them still being from Raphinha who had played as a striker in that game. Another reason why this game was so special was how 7 of the teams that played the most possible games in the World Cup and some also played in a few pre-season friendly, so they are definitely tired. Anthony Gordon and Fermin Lopez had 2 goals and 2 assists against Elche. 

FC Barcelona had an amazing transfer window, buying Karim Adeyemi, Anthony Gordon, and Rodri. Currently Rodri is injured but will be back either against Athletic Bilboa or Rayo Vallecano. Anthony Gordon game on at the 65th minute while they were winning 2-0, he got an assist at the 67th minute, and again to Fermin Lopez in the 71st minute of the game. Now, it wasn’t just Gordan that did good, Karim Adeyemi scored on his la Liga Debut at the 45+3 minute of the game, So, so far it is fair to say that those to signings were good for the team.
